Over the past 12 months, SCC has strategically expanded its Cyber division, investing in building a robust cyber capability within its Data Centre operation. This expansion has resulted in the creation of more than 30 new jobs spanning operations, AI, automation, technical architecture, product development, and sales.
The newly opened SOC, accredited by CREST, stands as a central hub for SCC's expanding Cyber operations team in the UK. It is equipped to provide continuous monitoring, prevention, detection, investigation, and mitigation of global cyber threats across diverse attack surfaces, reinforcing SCC's dedication to maintaining the security of its clients' businesses.
Steve Harrison, Cyber Operations Director at SCC, emphasized the importance of SCC's specialist Cyber expertise in assisting clients to navigate the evolving landscape of cyber threats. The establishment of the SOC marks a pivotal milestone in SCC's growth journey, with plans to further augment services and personnel within the Cyber team. In just six months, DigiSpinWM has:
- Assessed over 40 high-potential technologies for commercial viability
- Delivered tailored support to participants on spin-out strategy and intellectual property development
- Nurtured 11 ventures to investment readiness
- Developed a shared framework for technology transfer across participating universities
The recent showcase celebrated these achievements, spotlighting innovations spanning early-stage development to near-market solutions with the potential for significant societal and economic impact.
