Quick Read: Get Well Soon, a new healthcare platform in the West Midlands, aims to simplify access to private healthcare with over 50 practitioners already onboard, offering patients transparency and choice in elective procedures.
In a significant development for healthcare accessibility in the West Midlands, a new online platform named Get Well Soon has been launched. Developed by the Medmin Group, Get Well Soon is poised to revolutionize the private healthcare sector by providing a streamlined approach to comparing, choosing, and booking consultations.
The platform, which has already garnered attention as the first recipient of the West Midlands Co-Investment Fund, aims to address the traditional barriers associated with accessing private healthcare. With over 50 practitioners already onboarded across the region, Get Well Soon offers patients a convenient and transparent way to explore healthcare options.
"At Get Well Soon, we're inspired by platforms like Airbnb and Uber, which have transformed the way people approach travel and transport," explains Keith Duddy, Chief Executive Officer of the Medmin Group. "Our goal is to apply a similar approach to private healthcare, making access to elective surgery simple and safe."
The platform allows patients to review consultants and compare prices across multiple hospitals, empowering them to make informed decisions about their healthcare. This transparency is a key aspect of Get Well Soon's mission, as it seeks to provide patients with the information they need to make the right choices for their health.
"We've worked incredibly hard to onboard some of the most trusted and well-respected practitioners across the region," says Simon Radley, Chief Medical Officer of Get Well Soon. "Our platform offers them a new way to connect with patients and provides unprecedented transparency, trust, and quality in self-pay treatment."
Get Well Soon is now live with more than 50 practitioners offering a range of elective procedures, including inguinal hernia repairs, vasectomies, and hip replacements. As the platform continues to expand its practitioner network and increase awareness among patients, it aims to become the go-to destination for private healthcare in the West Midlands.
With its innovative approach and commitment to transparency, Get Well Soon is poised to make a significant impact on the healthcare landscape, providing patients with greater choice and accessibility to high-quality healthcare services. As the platform gains traction in the West Midlands, it sets its sights on expanding its reach and influence nationwide, ushering in a new era of healthcare accessibility and convenience.

Transforming Ideas into Investment Opportunities

Backed by Research England and delivered through a partnership between the University of Wolverhampton, Coventry University, and Birmingham City University via the West Midlands Combined Universities, the programme set out to test a collaborative model for commercialising innovation more efficiently and effectively.
In just six months, DigiSpinWM has:
- Assessed over 40 high-potential technologies for commercial viability

A Regional Model for Innovation

Ceri Jones, Director of Research & Enterprise at the University of Wolverhampton, reflected on the programme’s success:
The DigiSpinWM pilot has been a transformative journey. Seeing 11 investor-ready ventures emerge from such a collaborative, regional approach shows what’s possible when we unify efforts across institutions. These spinouts will drive real-world change and position the West Midlands at the forefront of digital and advanced manufacturing.
The pilot’s success is also credited to a strong ecosystem of academic mentors, business advisors, and industry reviewers who provided essential support and guidance to participants.
The showcase event featured live pitches from select ventures to an audience of investors, stakeholders, and innovation leaders, marking a key step towards unlocking the funding required to bring these innovations to market.
With the DigiSpinWM model proving its value, the programme signals a new chapter for spin-out activity in the West Midlands—one built on collaboration, shared infrastructure, and investment-ready innovation.
